Copper Nails

I made a few stools over the past week or so . The smallest one has a yew top with hazel legs, and the larger ones have field maple tops with ash legs... I included some copper nails in the tops of the maple stools, these nails came home with me from Islay this year and once belonged to my my great uncle who was a shipwright and ships carpenter on the Island...

  1. I like the looks but I think the next one you should try peeling the bark off the legs. Should keep the natural look, but give it a more finished appearance. Not quite as a harsh a contrast between top and legs.

  2. I do like keeping the bark on. But I do have some to peel...
