Stitched Up

I started this leather sheath on the last post..
My stitching gadget arrived this week.. So after an evening during the past week and an hour this afternoon..  And the glue my mentor Zelva mentioned..
I ended up with this which I pretty happy with for a first attempt.
Now I quiz my mentor once more!!
What can I use to dye this brown.. Using something natural..?
Thanks in advance.... ;b

  2. Some oak leaves tannin perhaps? or a really concentrated tea. Personally I'd just go at it with some good old Kiwi brand brown shoe polish.

  4. Nice work! You can use very strong blac tea or coffee but it will take a while and number of coatings for good result. If you just dye warmed sheat with warm beeswax and then leave it on sun it should turn to brown too but it depends on level of natural pigment in leather.

  5. One more note, if you decide to use tea/ coffee, make leather wet first. Don´t bath the sheath in it, it would lose its shape. It´s better to use brush. .... no more "wise crap" from me! ;-) Good luck!
