Yesterday I got up early and headed south, down the east coast and into the Scottish Borders to help a friend. He has bought a static caravan, to use as a little weekend retreat, but He needed a fence around it to keep his dogs from wandering off .So after a bit of a drive on nice quiet roads I stopped for a while when I was near to my destination I was rewarded with this view.
And after taking in the sunshine and the sea air. A busy day was ahead knocking in posts and nailing on ranch boards and a couple of gates to build. After a long chuckle filled day we had made his little patch safe for his dogs . Here's a hard days work, and my good friend Ian in front of his little patch :)

Poppies And Some Character
Warm weather has stayed with us all week again, with very high temperatures and warm breezes it makes a real difference away from our endless wind and rain. Anyway enough weather talk, here are some glorious poppies that caught my eye on a mid week cycle ride.
And out in the shed I started a little character wood stool using a piece of cherry that needed to be something . By leaving on some bark and keeping any imperfections allows me to use these defects as character, in timber that would end up as firewood . After some planing and a bit of shaping with a couple of spoke shaves. And finally a rub with some sandpaper it look's like this :)

Bike And Barrel
I had a ride through the woods yesterday evening , with a nice warm breeze following me from trail to trail. And with scenery like this I really should get out cycling a bit more .
On my way home I stopped for this picture looking down into the valley of the river forth .
And this morning after a spot of weeding. I added some lead bands on to the barrel plant stands that I put together last weekend. Here's how it looks after a couple of hours trimming and tapping away at the lead :)

Whiskers And Barrels
We have a good spell of warm weather with us so I jumped on my bike and headed off too much pedalling for lot's of pictures. But I did like the whiskers on the barley so that got snapped . And around the shed this weekend I made some barrel style plant stands, that I'm pretty happy with. Along with a few more fire torch stands... Have a look :)
