Fettling
Hi Folks
I hope all is well with you.
I've been back rummaging around Car boot sales. I found a few old wood planes. An Acorn smoothing plane and a couple of Stanley rebate planes, and record and Stanley spokeshaves
Here they are after a bit of Fettling, my favourite is the Stanley No 78 rebate plane.

Hey
Hi Everyone
So I wondered if I was still live on here.
It looks like I am, yes I dropped off the radar.
After taking down my workshop then chopping off a couple of fingertips during the lockdown. They were stitched back on though . A lot less feeling in them now, but hey I'm ever so glad to have them!
I'm rebuilding I have my new space for working and I'm finding pleasure from making shavings again.

Mending
Hi folks
So you might be thinking I have been busy making lots of nice things. That wasn't the case.
A year or so ago, I chopped the tops off two fingers in a multi tasking disaster. However a nice plastic surgeon mended them for me.
That wasn't my finest moment for sure. I'm getting back into doing a little more now.
Some tool box restorations and I enjoy fettling old axes.
Bear with me while I try to fathom out blogger on android.

Way Too Long
Yes it's been a while, way too long!! I've not been very creative at all lately.
I have been taking pictures and dabbling a little on Instagram.
Not much good to those wanting an update from the Scottish woodcrafter.
2019 is just around the corner I'm planning on making a few shavings.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you all a very happy new year...;)

A Lot Going On
I started cutting out housings for warped boards that will become table legs a few posts back.
The table is glued up now with three colours of resin in the small holes and fissures in this Cat's Paw Oak , it has a lot going on in it this little table. It will have a single bent hazel brace thats currently in traction.
Here's where I'm at, just making the timber pop with Boiled Linseed Oil...;b

Treasure and Cutting Housings
I also got the housings cut, to let the table leg boards into the base. With marking knife, mallet, chisel and a little bullnose plane. I set to work removing the material.
A little trip to the carboot sale (flea market) Yielded me some treasure for less than £10.00.
A very old first aid kit, with some old dressings. Along with an almost new Leatherman Charge.
Back in the workshop feeling inspired..;b

Experimenting
I've got a table to make for my cousin. I'm using the oak I was preparing a few weeks back .
It has several shakes which I'm thinking about patching with some copper dutchmen, which I'm experimenting with at the moment.
As you will see in the pictures...:b
