Merry Christmas

Yes I know I've been neglecting this space.
The creative mind has been turning so hopefully next year should see a little more productivity on here..

Horse

Horse time..
Mountain Ash horses heads with Hazel sticks.
And a couple of Silver Birch topped stools with Hazel Under carriage ...
It's been a while.
I've had a lot of studying to do..
I'll try and put a bit more time this way... ;b

Still Here

I'm still here.
Still making stuff.
Just been getting used to my new job..

Cherry chair

I've been messing around with this for the past few months.
A Cherry chair with a few twists, take a look and see..;b

Off Cuts

I started making some of these.
Out of some bits and pieces that were gathering dust.
I used a sliding bevel as a guide for drilling the holes..
Handy for hanging up jackets and dog leads. Along with a hornbeam topped stool with ash legs..;b

Hmmmm

So blogging has been a struggle of late..
Work has my train of thought broken..
But Still been making...;b

Tall stapled stool..

I finished this stool over the holiday weekend..
Slender ash legs and a diagonal bracing.. Wedged through tenons hold the legs to the top..
Oiled up in the spring sunshine... ;b

Sprung

Yes after a long wet windy winter.. The sun came out for the first day of spring...
Here's what I saw on a sunny spring day < the day that spring sprung!!...:b

Stapled Stool

I started cleaning up an old bit of oak that's been used as ballast below my workbench for the past few years this is going to be top of a stool..
It has a couple of shakes in it but they're stable.. So instead of cutting this part off I made some staples out of a copper boat nail..
The legs are ash which will give a nice contrast..;b

Taking It Further Still..

These legs from the last post were put together with the rails and top..
And I came up with a little multi use table.. So I took it further still and finished it... ;b

So I started with an idea for a table I have the top a nice piece of rippled sycamore..
But I never had the legs and rails...
Some cherry was needing to be something so this became the legs and rails..
Square and straight doesn't do it for me.. So I took it a little further and carved and shaped these legs....;b

It's Been A While

So things are kind of up in the air at the moment.. Change of job on the horizon.. So I've been getting my head around that..
Yes it's been a while since I last posted..
But I've not lost my love of making shavings.. ;b
