Copper Stitched Chair
Rippled sycamore the back rest is stitched together with copper boat nails.. This adds another little quirk to the chair although it was a bit of a challenge.. But that's why I do it, I like the challenge of an evolving design and resolving design issues as they arise.. So here it is folks..;b

Trophy Box

I was asked to make some boxes to hold some gundog trophies..
So with a few old boards..
And a little idea..
I cobbled these together...;b

What About This...
I was given this.. By a friend who knows my interests..
And when he found this he thought of me..
So now I'm the owner of this cool little treadle operated Hobbies fret saw..
It does work but it requires a belt and some tlc...
Which I'll happily tackle... ;b

Been A While
Hey guys
Yes it's been a while..
So I've been thrown a few curve balls lately..
But I'm getting back on track.
I started on this chair using the same rippled sycamore as the little cabinet..
It's been nice making some shavings again, and watching the chair evolve ... ;b

A Brace
I made a partner for the Rowan stool..
Same as last time, wedged through tenons...
But Two's better than one..
Also I'm going to start another blog..
I'm still keeping this one so don't worry..
But I'll show a little sneak peak of what's coming in the new blog...;)

Wax On
I ordered hand forged hinges for the cabinet..
They came this morning so I popped the doors on and gave it a final coat of wax..
I wasn't sure about the hinges at first.. But now I love them..
Pretty happy with how that turned out..
And it started out as a slab as pictured...;b

Almost
Painted the matchboarding
for the back of the cabinet..
A little tweak here and there..
For alignment..
Doors also fitted in..
Now I'm in a quandary as to what to do to hang these doors..
Simple pins top and bottom, or some wooden contraption..
But I fear this will take away from the simple lines..;/
So my thinking cap will be on..
And any suggestions are welcomed...;b

Sycamore Cabinet Progress...
So guys..
After getting sidetracked with all manner of things..
I'm back on track with the sycamore cabinet..
Got it all fitting together..
Not perfect but a little scribing and fettling will see it done..
The doors will be a bit of a challenge..
But that's all part of the making... :b
