The Great Escape
Mrs Brian had more renovation's for me this weekend ,a cupboard in our bedroom was a dumping ground. So some white boards and timber along with a clothes rail sorted that out, a few hours later and a bit more organised :)Then I escaped to the shed, mortise's and tenon's the task of the day for the rails on the chair. so I set the layout sawed my tenon's and chopped out the mortise's this is better than sweating in a tight cupboard . But Mrs Brian is happy so that's good, anyway the chair is slowly coming together another few escapes down to the shed should see good progress :)

A Little Rustic
My nest building duties are all but done now, I got out to the shed for a wee while today. And glued up the leg and back rest frames for the chair mentioned a few posts back and worked a bit on some material for bracing. Here are the frames and myself with my rustic roller painting the staircase walls, this bit of peeled ash saved the day when I realized that my arms couldn't stretch out to 11' :)

Door's Done
More decorating on the third room now ,got my five door's hung one popped right into the opening still in its wrapping. A few of the opening's were a bit squint but me and an old Stanley plane made good the difference. I had to do something to the glazed door I wonder if you can notice what. I think, Sawdust In My Sock's will be safe! but I try my best:)

And It Goes Like This
I made a little time for the shed today, and worked on my chair, mentioned a few posts back. I cut some joints and put together two frames dry at the moment, these make up the backrest and the back and front legs . Bracing will be the next part that I think about, I then faked up what it might look like, take a gander :)

Tapping Into Tree's
Blogger has been playing up this week for me I'm unable to read any comments at the moment. Anyway On a walk this afternoon around the loch and along the canal. I came across some huge tree's blown down by the gales a fortnight ago. These tree's were 100's of years old so they have grown through many changes in our town. When we had a working quarry ,tanneries,4 sawmills, paper mills and lots workshops, when they were only sapling's.
Now they lay on their sides one in the canal and more the edge of Linlithgow Loch. It would be good if you could tap into the tree's and take out the years of history that they were the back drop for. Here's a shot of what you see in our town along with yes you guessed it Tree's:)

When The Wind Blows
I had a walk through the wood's this week to take a look at the storm damage. There were plenty tops torn from tree's particularly Scots Pine. Many of the huge sitka spruce had their foundation's ripped from the earth
The pictures show some of the safer area's, other part's are a lot worse and common sense prevails, as a tree can hang in the branches of his kin but for how long. Could be minutes day's or years, So its best to keep out of the way. Lots of big timber that was planted during WW1 was whipped and pushed until roots broke free from their mooring's sending them down to rest in their own cast needles :)
