More Treasure

A bit of barter yesterday and got me this little lot...
So here's a little Gilpins axe very nice indeed...
Then a brand new old in the box Stanley 91/2 block plane, I'm really chuffed with this. A lovely little plane!!

And a few quid today got me, a Sybren foot rule, Elliot Lucas nail pincers, And my favourite an Alex Mathieson 11/4"-32mm firmer chisel. I have a small collection of these Mathieson tools, made in Scotland like me!! But I use them, I don't just drool over them!!;)
 Please feel free to drool....
For rootertooter , Nail Pincers....

Copper Nails

I made a few stools over the past week or so . The smallest one has a yew top with hazel legs, and the larger ones have field maple tops with ash legs... I included some copper nails in the tops of the maple stools, these nails came home with me from Islay this year and once belonged to my my great uncle who was a shipwright and ships carpenter on the Island...

Sign

I was asked a while back to make a sign for a house that's being built.. And while passing by I noticed it was nearly finished... So I thought I'd better get on with it...

It took a little longer than usual as the oak was well seasoned. However I toiled away and ended up with this...

Barter

I done a little bartering this weekend for these two axe heads...
They had been well mashed so I tidied them up a little. One is marked made in Sweden HB the other just has a few faint numbers and letters.
I'm looking forward to putting handles into this pair... ;)

Once Again

I kept away from the workshop this weekend I headed for the hills once more..
This sheep fold made of stones caught my eye made with stones from all over Scotland. Along with a really neat, oak triple seat which now that the elements have weathered a nice patina to the oak..
The worn grey colour fits right in with the shape and colours of the stone walls..
So have a look at this and a few other things that I snapped...

The stones of the Witchcraigs wall and the world folding out in the valley below... Quite a special place up there among the heather and the wind swept tree's.... ;)

Hill Country

This week I spent a little time in the hills, enjoying the peace and watching the world go by!! And I sampled some (blaeberries) small Scottish blueberry, on the way up...

Blaeberries, mmmm... ;)
